Spreading the Gospel Accidentally

Bob Garfield (a highly recognized and successful columnist) wrote an article about this year's Super Bowl ads and used a good portion of it to dig at those who honor Jesus. At one point, he even calls Tim Tebow a "Bible thumping quarterback."

As a follower of Christ, admittedly this article angered me at first, but then I realized something... in all of Mr. Garfield's jabs at outspoken Christians, he himself promoted Christ in his article unknowingly!

You see, the front cover of Advertising Age magazine (in which Bob's article was written) featured a huge picture of Tebow wearing his eyeblack with Eph 2:8-10 inscribed (see above photo.) With thousands of subscribers to to this magazine, how many do you think might have looked this verse up in the Bible? My guess is quite a few.

So now I am trying to look at things a more like Paul did...

Philippians 1:18b (NIV) "The important thing is that in every way, whether from false motives or true, Christ is preached. And because of this I rejoice."
