Praying...Believing

1 John 5:14-15 This is the confidence we have in approaching God: that if we ask anything according to his will, he hears us. And if we know that he hears us—whatever we ask—we know that we have what we asked of him.

Read that again. Seriously, stop right here and read it again. Now, think about that for a minute: if we ask anything, according to His will, He hears us, & we can know that we've received it!

Let me be clear... this is NOT a "name it and claim it" idea. This is a biblical truth that we must dwell on and think deeply about. The key statement here..."according to His will." How can we know His will...by His word. (2 Tim 3:16)

Do you want to be a godly father or mother, a fruit bearing disciple, a faithful steward, a compassionate person? Great! God wants those things for you too... (Eph 6:4, John 15:16, 1 Peter 4:10, Ps 112:4)

Why don't you ask Him for them? Why don't you ask and believe that He will give them to you according to His word?

May we all be like George Mueller, a mighty prayer warrior: http://bit.ly/ikczYO - It was said of him that he would pray “with his bible open before him and his finger upon a promise…he would plead that promise to God and thereby receive what he had asked.” (See Luke 18:1-8) It would be wise for us to do the same. God has revealed to us His purposes, His desires and His will in Scripture… asking Him to accomplish these very things in and through us is a powerful way to pray.

What are you asking and believing God for?
